Harford County Hosts Hess Road Bridge Replacement Hearing
Hess Road is located on the borders of Harford and Baltimore Counties.
Baltimore County Department of Public Works officials are encouraging residents to attend a public hearing to discuss the Hess Road bridge replacement project at the Veronica "Roni" Chenoweth Activity Center in Harford County.
The proposed project involves the crossing of Hess Road over Little Gunpowder Falls, which is located on the border of Harford and Baltimore counties, near Monkton.
"It's going to be a discussion on widening the bridge to bring it in line with current standards," said David Fidler, a spokesman for the Department of Public Works. "This would require the two counties to share their points of view and give everyone a chance to say what they want."
The meeting is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m., Oct. 11 at the activity center, which is located at 1707 Fallston Road in Fallston.

I drive on that road a lot. After reading this article I was trying to figure out where exactly the Harford/Baltimore County border is as it relates to this bridge. So I looked it up on the internet and found this site.

Funny...it lies in Baltimore County(by a few feet) but the Meeting is in Harford County.
Probably because the people in Baltimore County (ie those living on Hess Road) oppose it and those in Harford County want to turn it into more of a raceway, I mean faster cut through in the mornings. This Bridge is the only thing that really keeps people from electing to come down Hess road as a faster router. If they want to widen the road they better put speed bumps on the road because people fly down that road...much like sweet air in the mornings and evenings.
